The sample badge I created is for Google’s Applied Digital Skills lesson entitled “Plan an Event.” The lesson requires students to plan an event of their choice using different features in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Drawings, and Google Calendar. If you haven’t checked out Google’s Applied Digital Skills lessons, I highly recommend them! Each lesson is a compilation of videos that show students step-by-step how to complete a task in G-Suite and then gives them a checklist of what they need to do next. Students can work at their own pace and rewatch videos as necessary.
A badging system would be an ideal way to personalize learning throughout our 21st Century Skills classes because students could present their badges to either technology teacher and the teacher would have a fairly clear understanding of what skills the student has already developed in that particular application or skill set. The possibilities are endless in establishing effective badges for your class or school!
